During the morning daycare drop-off today, Henry was demonstrating his knowledge of numbers.
H: "Daddy, I'm FOUR, and Tristan is TWOOOO!" Me: "That's right buddy, and how old is daddy?" H: "Um.....OLD!!" ...Cheeky sod. My kids are bilingual. Which, considering that they're only 4 and 2 and a half, I think is pretty impressive. The other day I was washing dished in the kitchen, and I could over hear a heated argument between the boys in the next room. They were speaking Swedish at the time, so I wasn't really following along. Eventually Henry had had enough, came into the kitchen to get daddy for a ruling on the subject, and asked: "Daddy, DO robot's have willy's or not??" Damn those kids make me laugh! ~Ryan p.s. Of course they don't...have you ever seen Optimus Prime take a leak? H - "Daddy, will you play with me?""
Me -"Sure, what shall we play?"" H - "Ok, you be a pirate...I'll be Santa...let's go fishing." Runs away leaving me looking very confused. Kids say the funniest things... ~Ryan This week was Tristan's 2nd Birthday. I can't believe the little guy is TWO years old already! It's amazing how much he's changed in the last year. Maddi planned a little party for him the day before his birthday, which was on Sunday. Unfortunately I had to work that day, but luckily I had a 5 hour break during the day between my first 2 sectors and my last 2 sectors. So I decided to jump in the car and head home for a bit in the middle of the day - something I never could have down at Qantaslink, the Sydney traffic alone would never have made it possible. So I got to spend a couple of hours with the family, see our friends, eat some cake (ok, a LOT of cake) and then went back to work to finish my work day. Monday was T's birthday proper, and I had the day off, so I kept the boys home that day for a Boy's day out. After breakfast I loaded them in the car and we went to Andy's Playland, one of those playhouse places that kids love so much and parents seem to fear. It was bigger than I thought, and the boys loved it! Also, since it was a Monday morning, there weren't many people there, so it wasn't too chaotic. We had a lot of fun together, and I think the boys liked spending the day with their dad :) Here are some photo's from the party and from our Boy's Day Out :) Enjoy!! |
