For the last few months I’ve really being struggling to find the time to post on this blog. This is a source of frustration for me. See, all these events happen in my life, and I take photos and video, and I plan out how I’m going to edit them all together with words thrown in the mix to make an interesting blog post….and then I never have time to do it and my drafts folder gets bigger and I get more frustrated and angry with myself for not making the time.
So I’ve decided it’s time for this blog to get a reboot.
BUT…before I hit the Big Red Reset button, here is a super quick rundown of recent stuff and happenings:
After flying turboprops for almost 5 years, I finally got my Command upgrade, which means I'm now a Captain. I've wanted to be an airline Captain since I was about 7 years old - check that one off the bucket list.
The upgrade included Ground School in Exeter, UK, and simulator training in Singapore, which was pretty cool. Here are some photos I took during training:
Tristan turned 2 in April, and Henry turned 4 in June. I was working on the day of T's party, but thanks to a 5 hour break in the middle of my day I managed to drive home to celebrate with everyone for a couple of hours, which was great. The day after his party was his birthday proper and I had a day off, so I took the boys to one of those Playland places that are so popular over here. Lots of slides, ball pits, climbing up and down stuff, that kind of thing. It was a huge hit.
Henry's birthday was just after I got back from Singapore. It's the first time we've thrown a proper party for either of the boys, with other guests who aren't family. Maddi did an awesome job of planning everything, including pony rides for the kids.
My name is Ryan, and this is my website.
