Last night I got to experience my first ever Ice Hockey game.....and I am hooked!!
My only exposure to the sport has been through the movies (Go Mighty Ducks!!), and seeing a game live was much cooler.
It was the first 'date night' that Maddi and I have in a LONG time. We got free tickets from a hardware store here, and decided to dump the kids with the grandparents for the day and go watch the game. And it wasn't just some local bush league thing either, it was Sweden VS. Finland, arch-enemies on the ice, so it was pretty intense!
There was fighting, blood on the ice, excellent shooting and puck handling, super fast skating, yeah it was friggin cool!
I got a couple of photos:
The game was in the Globen, which is this HUGE globe shaped stadium in central Stockholm.
I'm really looking forward to taking Henry and Tristan to their first hockey games, I reckon they're gonna love this game.
Now, time to go study up on some Ice Hockey history...
p.s. Sweden won 3-2.......GO SVERIGE!!!!!
My name is Ryan, and this is my blog.
