I've been wanting to try a new plan for a while now, but thanks to my CHRONIC shiny-object syndrome, I haven't been able to choose one, or more accurately, stick with one for some time now. Recently, I read a great book called Fat Loss Happens on Monday, by Josh Hillis and Dan John (yes, that Dan John). I found the authors take on diet and exercise to be very interesting, and a total flip on the common ideas these days that you have to starve yourself, only eat what cave people ate, be in Ketosis at all time, and literally try to kill yourself doing extreme, Insanity, Crossfitty type workouts all the time every day. The book's approach to diet and exercise just seems to me to take a step back from all of that and is a lot more approachable to a guy like me - read: approaching 40, very unfit, travels a lot and hates globo-gyms.
So, I'm going to try the workout plan in the back of the book. And I'm going to commit to sticking to the plan for at least one FULL cycle, which will take a couple of months I think, if I'm reading the plan correctly. I'm also going to start with the MOST basic progressions for all exercises as I have recently injured my self more than once by being stupid and doing more than my old creaky body can handle. So don't laugh at me when you see the weights...
